  • Birding: Giddy up, little Northern pintails Thursday, November 20, 2008 @ 2:41AMIt sounds strange to admit that a certain duck reminds you of a horse or horses. That thought occurred to me the other day when I was observing some Northern pintails. A flock of these handsome birds were paddling about in Oak Bay County Park’s saltwater pond. This area is across from Indian and Marrowstone islands on the Olympic Peninsula. It’s a favorite stop whenever we are in that vicinity.
