Hippotherapy
Are there any organisations with sponsorships/family hosts to bring a US special needs child + parent to UK?
Looking for a program designed to help a child experience a new culture in a same-language setting, or attend a therapy (such as horseback therapy/hippotherapy). o Needs to be in England o Looking for host families with special needs experience o For the summer (4 weeks to 6 weeks)

- You would probaly be better of finding a centre that can deal with your childs disability in the uk and then looking for accomodation near the centre, there are many charitys in the uk dealing with a wide range of topics check out the links below and see if they help :)
- Try Mencap.org, which focuses on children and adults with developmental disabilities and metal retardation. BTW, people with developmental disabilities (DD) are not necessarily mentally retarded, and could also be average or above average in inteelect/cognition. i.e. High Functioning Autism, Aspergers Syndrome. Also try Cureautismnow.org and ask there attheir autismspeaks.org site, to see if any paretns answer your question. Look for Host Families who live in this area hwo have children with special needs and aks if anyone would either like to do a program swap (you go there, stay with them, they come to your home, stay with you, etc.) or if there is oeomthign more formal that can happen. FYI: Manchester (Little Hulton and Salford) have programs for Medcap, and is cheaper than London.
