- petfinder.com but $500 dollars is cheap 4 a horse so u should check it out really closely b4 u buy it. (people may b trying 2 sell it 4 cheap cuz it has a problem)
- If your budget is 500 dollars you may want to save a little more. Most horses at that price dont know how to be ridden, are dangerouse, and are not good beginer horses. A good beginer horse would cost about 1500 and up (because of show season starting)
- FIRST WHERE DO YOU LIVE. IF I SAID I KNOW OF A HORSE FOR SALE HERE IN NEW JERSEY AND YOU TELL ME FORGET-GET-ABOUTIT, WELL IF YOU LIVE IN NOWERE,IOWA IT WOULD COST YOU MORE TO COME AND PICK UP THE HORSE THAN TO BUY IT.
- go to equinehits.com its where i got mine for 200. You can search by many different criteria like price, breed, color, sex, and location. Check it out and let me know what you think :)
- www.dreamhorse.com or your local newspaper or your local auction My family has gotten very good horses from all three places relatively cheap. If you do find a cheap horse make sure you really check it out, or have a vet check it. Unfortunately, cheap beginner horses are few and far between. Most cheap horses are green, or injured, or old, or disabled, or unridable. Be really cautious about buying at auctions. Sometimes if they don't sell at the auctions, you can talk to the owners later and arrange to buy them or ride them then, giving you more time to make a decision.
- www.equinehits.com its a great site! some of the horses listed their are free!!
- http://www.equine.com actually has a section for FREE horses. I would suggest a free lease, so when you are done with the horse you can give it back to the owner, rather than have to find it a new home. Since you have had horses in the past, or currently have them, you already know that the purchase price is nothing compared to the cost of upkeep. I spend about $3000 per year, per horse, for vet, farrier and feed, and I get most of the services for less because of quantity discounts..
- You can try www.equine.com I've found some pretty good horses there, altough the best can be expensive. Some are inexpensive but still great to ride though.
- www.pleasurehorse.com www,thriftynickelads.com and search classifieds. also, you may want to put an ad in your local paper telling what you are looking for, you may get osme hits by people who have horses that they don't think are worth enough to sell. there is nothing wrong with a hrose in that price range. ppl saying spend more are living in areas where horses are more expensive. i used to live in the desert of south west texasand you could get a proven ranch horse for about $800. anyhting over that was considred expensive. i've picked up unbroken horses off the range for 200..good luck!
- www.horsenethorserescue.org very nice horses i no some one who got all of her horses from them its an adoption center so they're under $500. if your looking for a nice first horse or a companion horse this is the place to go.
- www.dreamhorse.com www.agworldads.com www.firsthorse.com i personally been to the top two sites and know the owners and creators of the site. good luck horse hunting :)
- equine.com has a selection of free horses,or just type in 500 hundred in your max. also try horsetopia.com they dont have a free horse section but i think there pretty good. I dont dreamhorse.com i think its to complicated. In ct they have a thing called steedread maybe you have something like that in WI
- try petfinder.com
- www.equine.com www.equinehits.com www.horsetopia.com www.horsemad.com www.dreamhorse.com these are in order by what i think is best Dreamhorse is really pricie, i like equine and equinehits the best! Good luck to you!
- you can go to craiglist and type in horse and go to what town you want and you should get horse for sale and i am not sure of the prices but you will probally find one.
- I tried out bargenshare.com
- Please keep in mind that there is a big difference in the VALUE of a horse, and that differs from person to person, and what the horse SELLS FOR. Horses, like any livestock (or anything else) can sell for whatever someone is willing to pay for them. You CAN find a good horse for $500 or less, but it may take some extra time in the looking. I bought my dream horse for that, he is awesome and I went to see him when I read the ad in the paper, because I didn't think a horse who was built well, had no vices and was pretty, at 4 months of age, would be sold for just $500. I was wrong but reaped the benefits anyway! My biggest advice to you, keeping in mind I am in Arkansas and in a "hot" state is make sure you get EIA/Coggins Test paperwork before you agree to buy a horse, and especially before you bring the horse home! Good luck!
- try www.horsetopia.com. They have some cool stuff! *Alyssa*
