i have a horse that will be bred on wed, for the first time, any tips?????
My mare will be bred this week to a stallion who has only been bred once before and my mare has never been bred before. She is 3 years old, and i dont think she would kick or seriously injure the stallion, but there will be a professional horse breeder present to help out. If you have any info or site refrences, i would really appreciate it! I just want to know what to do and what to expect. Thanks so much!!!!

- if there's gonna be a breeder on hand, don't worry a bit. She'll know what to do.
- Depending on how she takes to him it could go a few diffrent ways either she will be a great girl and alow him to breed just fine and dandy. OR she could kick the living s#$% out of him Ive seen the most docile mare go bad at thet time and I have seen the most rangy mare get all soft and sweet. Sorry to say there is no way to tell unitll it is done. It would proabily be a bit better if the stud had coverd more mares he would have the experience to get the job done either way but as he is new to this if she fights hard she may actually scare him.
- if a pro breeder is going to be there then don't worry.
- If there's a profesisonal on hand who is experienced, all the better. Pat Parelli always advises caution with stallions who are not bred every day during breeding season so steer VERY clear as they more often than not are viscious. - Stand back.
