How much should I charge to take pictures of someone and there 2 horses?

I don't consider myself a "professional" photographer..simply because I haven't been to school and I've never really taken photos for anyone. Although my pics do have a professional look to them. I have no idea how to charge for doing it. She wants a min. of 20 pics taken. I will have to drive almost an hr to get to her house to do it. Any help?

  1. Base your fee on time traveled (one-way) at $50/hr and expenses (fuel). Your shooting fee should be up to $100. After your shoot, pick out the 20 best photos (in focus, well composed and exposed) and send them to her on a CD with a permission note authorizing her to make photos for her personal use only. That should cover everything including your time editing and burning the CD. If she needs any retouching, then that is billed at what it costs you to have it done. Unless your are a wizard at doing that, let an expert do it.
  2. charge $100 for the trips to and from. Then charge $100 for the hour of shooting. Then charge $100 fro the best photo. If she wants more charge at $20 each. About $350 would be reasonable
