therapeutic riding lesson plan?
I am trying to find an example of a therapeutic riding lesson plan and cannot find anything online. I cannot get help from a center as I am living outside the US right now. I tried the NAHRA but you have to be a member to access info. Anyone can help? I would appreciate it! I am doing an online course on general therapeutic riding and need to present a lesson plan. Could be for adults or children with physical or mental disabilities. It is not precise. I don't have an example to help me. I don't want to copy just have an idea of what a lesson plan would look like in writing as my online course doesn't provide me with that info. Thanks.

- What type of therapy are you doing? Physical? Speech? Depression? Dissability? I have taught all of those and they all have pretty different lesson plans. Give me a little more and I can help you out. Ok, here we go. This is my plan for an autistic girl in a group lesson. 1. Have them help groom and tack up, and hand lead the horse. Mount the student with at least 3 people assisting. 2. Warm up laps around the arena, two in each direction. Focus on streatching and tactile movements. With leader. 3. Simon Says, focusing on getting her to use voice commands strongly to command the horse. Still hand lead. 4. 10 minute trail ride, hand lead. Play I Spy along the way. 5. Obstacle course (ground poles, weave cones, throw a ball in a hoop, etc). First time lead, second time free ride, just walk along. Third time challange her to do it backwards. 6. Two or three lengths of trot, hand lead. 7. Hand lead cool down lap. 8. Dissmount, and let her help untack and give a carrot to the horse. Total Time: 1hr 30min Do you need any other examples or is that good enough?
