- I don't live in the US, but aren't mustangs wild horses?
- Wild horse bands?? What do mean? Like herds of free roaming wild horses? Then, yes, in the US, there are wild mustangs that roam mostly in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and a few other western states. The BLM (Bureau of Land Management) rounds some of these horses up annualy for control measures, and they get adopted into suitable homes. In addition to the wild mustangs there are also wild burros that roam free in those states, and are also rounded up. For more information on wild horses & burros, visit the BLM website....http://www.blm.org There are also Chincoteague (sp?) ponies that roam free and wild on a small island called Assateague Island, which I think is off the coast of either Virginia or North Carolina. The assateague ponies are in critical numbers, and are being maintained by managemant operations to keep them running free.
- There are. Some friends of mine went to Arizona (I think) just to see the wild horses. They said at one point, they had to stop because the herd was kind of stampeding.
